Chapter Conferment Ceremony for 2007 Designees

Local Conferment Ceremony for the 2007 New Designees


		The local conferment ceremony for new CPCU designees was held on November 5, 2007 at a conference room in the home office of Tokio Marine Nichido Fire Insurance Company in Tokyo. Ms. Betsey Brewer, CPCU, 2006-2007 Society President visited Japan to serve as the conferring officer. Among several new Japanese CPCUs, Mr. Yoshimitsu Mizui of Toa Reinsurance Company was only new designee who could attend the ceremony in Tokyo as others were working outside Japan.


		In her congratulatory speech, Betsey Brewer emphasized the importance of CPCU designation as well as insurance professionalism / ethical activities. A small dinner party was held after the ceremony attended by the Japan chapter members, IIA completers, CPCU candidates, and guests from insurance companies/industry. Betsey made several insurance company and broker visits and held a press meeting with three insurance papers in Japan.
